Another General Conference has come and gone, and once again, the spirit was pouring into our lives. I love spending Saturday and Sunday afternoons with my family, listening to the prophet and apostles talk, teach, and inspire us. They impart so many great gospel lessons in such a short time, and are always great for revisiting during Family Home Evening.
So, my question for you is what were your favorite talks during General Conference? What hit home with you, and felt like it was meant just for you? What fun/funny moments did you enjoy? Let us know, because if there’s anything we love more than FHE, it’s Conference!
In the spirit of sharing, here’s an excerpt from my favorite talk, given during the Saturday Morning Session by Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve apostles, about Sacrifice:
” Today the most visible strength of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the unselfish service and sacrifice of its members. Prior to the rededication of one of our temples, a Christian minister asked President Gordon B. Hinckley why it did not contain any representation of the cross, the most common symbol of the Christian faith. President Hinckley replied that the symbols of our Christian faith are “the lives of our people.” Truly, our lives of service and sacrifice are the most appropriate expressions of our commitment to serve the Master and our fellowmen.”
